Terms of Use

Last updated June 28, 2026.

Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use (the “terms”) govern your use of the Menu Bar Label application for macOS (the “app”), made by RainPeak Signals Inc. (“RainPeak Signals,” “we,” “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Your licence to use the app

The app is licensed, not sold, to you. Your licence to use the app is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple’s standard EULA) and the App Store Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between these terms and Apple’s standard EULA regarding the licence to use the app, Apple’s standard EULA governs that licence. Your licence is personal and non-transferable, applies to Apple-branded devices that you own or control, and may be used by other members of your household as permitted by Apple’s Family Sharing rules.

In-app purchases

Menu Bar Label is free to download. It also offers an optional, one-time in-app purchase (the “Full Version”) that unlocks the app’s paid features. The features included in the free app and in the Full Version are described on the App Store product page, and the price of the Full Version is shown in the App Store at the time of purchase.

  • Apple handles payment. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and the StoreKit framework. We never receive or store your payment details or Apple Account.
  • One-time unlock. The Full Version is a non-consumable purchase. You can restore it on your devices at any time with the “Restore Purchases” option in the app, at no additional cost.
  • Refunds. Because Apple is the merchant of record, all billing and refund requests are handled by Apple, not by us. You can request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com under Apple’s terms.

Acceptable use

The app is a simple utility for displaying your own text in the macOS menu bar. You agree to use it lawfully and not to misuse it — for example, by attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app except to the limited extent that applicable law or Apple’s terms expressly permit; by redistributing or reselling it; or by using it to display content that is unlawful or that infringes the rights of others. You are responsible for the text and content you choose to display.

Intellectual property

The app — including its software, design, layout, graphics, and the “Menu Bar Label” and RainPeak Signals names and marks — is owned by RainPeak Signals Inc. or used with permission, and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms grant you a licence to use the app; they do not transfer any ownership to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Third-party terms

When you use the app, you must also comply with any applicable third-party terms — most notably Apple’s App Store Terms and Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, which govern your use of the App Store and any in-app purchase.

No warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every system configuration. Some warranties cannot be excluded under the law of British Columbia and other applicable consumer-protection law; nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights you have that cannot be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RainPeak Signals will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of — or inability to use — the app. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the Full Version (if any) in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including non-excludable rights under British Columbia and Canadian consumer-protection law.

Changes

We may update the app and these terms from time to time — for example, to reflect new features or legal requirements. When we change these terms, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms, so please check back occasionally.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to any non-excludable rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law, you agree that the courts located in British Columbia, Canada, will have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the app.
